Full Stack Engineer

Location & work mode

This role is based in Bengaluru, India, and works from our office. We care about focused time and short feedback loops, which is easier in a room together while the team is this size.

What you'll do

• Build the Lokah contributor app, on Android and the web: the place where people across many languages record speech, scan documents and get paid for it.
• Design the interfaces where AI agents and people work together: an agent drafts a task, a person does it, another checks it, and every hand-off has to feel obvious.
• Use AI to make the tasks worth doing: agents that draft new tasks from a brief and translate them into every language we collect in, and prompts and scenarios that give each contributor something fun to say.
• Make contributing feel like a game people want to come back to: streaks, levels, challenges and rewards, tuned so the fun never costs data quality.
• Own the frontend: fast on a cheap phone with a bad connection, clear to someone using it in their second language.
• Run the infrastructure under it: databases, storage, queues, deploys, and the monitoring that tells us a collection is in trouble before a contributor does.
• Turn what contributors make into datasets: from a recording on a phone to a reviewed, labelled set a buyer can license, with the review queues, quality checks and admin the team runs on.
• Now and then, work on the Svara console and API, the self-serve platform for Svara TTS Turbo.

What we're looking for

• You have shipped a product end to end, database to interface, that people use every day.
• Strong TypeScript and React. Our products are built on Next.js.
• Postgres you understand: schema design, migrations, and queries that stay fast as the tables grow.
• You have built with LLMs in a product, and know where they need a guardrail.
• An eye for the details users notice: loading and empty states, error copy, the small screen.
• Ease with the operational side: containers, CI, logs, and debugging a production issue you did not cause.
• Clear writing. We work from written arguments more than meetings.

Bonus

• You have a background in gamification: you have built something people came back to because it was fun, and know the difference between a reward loop that respects people and one that wears them out.
• You have shipped an Android app, with Capacitor, React Native, or natively.
• You have worked with audio on a phone or in the browser: recording, playback, upload over a weak network.
• You have built for a crowd workforce or a marketplace: task assignment, review, payouts.
• You have worked with Python data pipelines.
• You speak more than one Indian language.
